Always check the basics first....lol
Always check the basics first....lol
My Camaro started idling a little strangely last week.... didn't want to come down to idle speed when I came to a stop... randomly idling high, etc... especially with the A/C on.
Given I've been so into tuning over the years, my brain immediately starts going to the calibration... but then I said wait, let me look at some running data first.
I noticed that the ECM wasn't recognizing when I was in gear vs P/N. Ended up tracing it to a bad connection on the P/N switch on the shifter.
Once I fixed that, everything went back to normal. So yeah, just another reminder to always check the basics first. It's often something stupidly simple.

Your post might have given me an idea about diagnosing my no start condition in my derelict Bird. Did you happen to notice what your Tach gauge was doing before you found the bad connection?
Re: Always check the basics first....lol
Tach was fine, but keep in mind my Camaro is a 1971 that swapped a 7730 90-92 TPI system in. Tach isn't even factory... it's an Autometer.
But, to answer your question, no other symptoms except the erratic behavior of the idle.
