I have a 87 Pontiac fiero with a 2.8 l engine I took a 2006 Pontiac G6 3.5 l block bolted my 2.8 l heads and intake on it put my distributor in it it runs but it makes the manifolds glow red what could be the problem

Late ignition timing could cause that-you might get more response on a Fiero forum,but the 60* v6 is known around here

It MIGHT have something to do with bolting 1987 2.8 heads onto a 2006 3.5 block, and presumably all the 2.8 fuel components designed to feed a 1987 2.8 engine. I had no idea this was even possible, and the mere suggestion is enough to make me cringe. Good luck with all that, you have bolted together an interesting mess.
