Installed new maf but now car stalls constantly

Been taking my old bird to the mechanic regularly over the years. The service engine light was always on and car would occasionally stall at 500 rpm at stop lights or just slowing down . Replaced the MAF today & service engine light is now off but now car stalls at all stop lights or just taking a slow corner. Have to keep engine at over 1500 rpm at stop lights or it dies.
Does my 305 tpi V8 Trans Am even have an MAP - because mechanic couldn’t find one.
Any ideas why it’s stalling constantly? Mechanic said engine seemed to be hunting for an idle level .
Help

85-89 tpi is maf speed density map was 90-92. Are you still getting a code 33 or 34 ? How’s fuel pressure ? Any chance there is a code 24 showing?

My mechanic didnt have any time to run any tests or codes after installing maf. Please explain what problem each of those codes point to. He is a new mechanic - I don’t expect him to know everything about my old firebird. He really thought the new maf would fix it but instead it’s even worse.
what fuel pressure should it be reading?
what does code 24 indicate ?
code 33 or 34?
Thanks for your expertise!

This is a 3 bar efi system, code 24 is lack of Vss signal. 33 maf high, 34 maf low. Easy to search gm obd1 codes. You didn’t mention is the check engine light on ?

Check engine light is now off. The new MAF made that finally happen. Does my firebird have a MAP ?
