Steering Column replacement option

I have 89 Trans AM 305 with automatic transmission. It is currently under restoration process. The existing steering column (with VATS) had a lot of play in it and the key cylinder is now locked out. What are my options for replacements (complete or partial)? the engine has been swapped to 383 stroker carb intake and 5- speed manual transmission.

Re: Steering Column replacement option

May not even need a rebuilt. Probably the typical issue of internal bolts that loosen up. Not really a difficult fix with the proper tools, which can be had for far less than the $425 to rebuild. Reinstall the existing bolts that loosened up with loctite and it will not loosen up again.

There a number of threads on the subject.

There are pins your can buy to tighten it up too, if it's not loose bolts. They're ~$30 bux.
