torque converter to flywheel bolt seq.
ok now I think I was told to torque the bolts from the flywheel to torque converter to 70ft/lbs.. now can I just do one at a time and torque them right down? or should I do a gradual thing all around t'ill they hit 70?
thanks
thanks
I do mine in a torque step 30fp then 75fp I also tightnin them in the pattern you would do your wheels. Start with one and then do the one farthest away and then go to the one furthest away from the last one exc exc exc. I also use 272 locktite on my flywheel bolts.

the most important thing is to make sure its flat against the FW
b4 any of them really start to get tight...
just finger tight them all.. and then you can sorta wiggle the converter to the FW by putting your finger behind it and rotating it a little.. once it bottoms .. run the bolts the rest of the way down with your fingers... then start with the wrench..just barely.. on the first one..
Rotate the motor to the next bolt... and tighten it about the same amount...
After they all bottom, you can then just heft on them..
starting at age 16 I performed transmissions installs and ever had a single prob.
