Wrong Tensioner ?

Rockauto calls for a dayco 89213 for 88-92 Camaro. My brackets are from a 3rd gen trans am. The guide whole on my brackets seems to be on the opposite side to match this tensioner. Am I missing something easy here ?
Drill another guide hole in opposite side for an easy fix?

Re: Wrong Tensioner ?

Looks like you have truck brackets. Camaro/firebird use the same brackets, truck and corvette are both different.

This is the style of belt tensioner the F-bodys came with.

Re: Wrong Tensioner ?

Brackets are from a 3rd gen trans am not a truck
I should say I was "told" they were from an 88 trans am. Found this pic on forum. Super hard to tell if mine are different than what the f body brackets should be

Yes, looks correct. Keep in mind, the waterpump, crank (ps?) pulleys have to match the brackets as well

The only thing I'm concerned about is getting the correct crank pulley. I have the correct wp and WP pulley, alternator and alternator pulley, power steering pump and pulley but the crank pulley I can't find good info on if it's 6 or 8 inches. The one I have is the 8 inch or 7 7/8" to be exact.

Re: Wrong Tensioner ?

I think the right one is about 6½" butt I could be wrong.

Sounds like it's time to hit the junkyard and just look at what's there. Probably a fool's errand to try to buy new; likely will cost outrageously, if it's even still available.
