Why won't my air shocks hold air and which distributer to get?
Ok first, for about three weeks my rear has been sitting low, sometimes lower than my front (Yeah, that show quality kinda stance
). I tried filling them but on my air compresser at home nothing happens (works on tires) and at the gas station it shoots air, but the rear doesen't raise (also works on tires). I replaced the valve stem, but can't figure out why it won't even try to pump air in. Are my shocks bad? Does there need to be pressure on the opposite side of the valvestem for it to let air in?
Next, I need a new HEI vacume adv. distributer. I was recommend the Summit HEI ($140) by Damon does anyone else use this or have any expireance with it. It has a 48,000 volt coil and is all new. What about the Mallory HEI ($185)? I'm a broke student so anything over $200 is out of the question.
Thanks for the help,
Matt

Air shocks- You probably have a break in the plastic line. I'm thinking you can get a kit for $10/15 to repair the line if you cant find a air shock line kit use oil pressure guage line same stuff and can be found in the guage section at any autoparts store. If you wanted to be real smooth you could use the copper line
HEI- Are you using a cc setup? Either way you can get a descent one made by accel for $140 or less I think the one with the 45000 coil in it is $160.
Accel makes good products and they can be found in almost any local parts store no shipping fee.

Edit: If your shocks are dead (not really likely) they probably have a lifetime warenty.

Thanks, SSC. Yeah, when I bought the "tee" connector it came with the hosing. I'll go out tommarow and try to find a break. Yeah, the shocks are newer but installed by the guy before me who diden't give me the recipts for them.
I'm running a non-cc setup...with the Edelbrock Carb and stock distributer...that's why I need a new distributer. I've looked into the Accel stuff they sound very reasonable too.
Anyone else have any input on this?
