Leaking drain plug ...
Any suggestions???
This is for my dad's 94 Chevy Suburban with 150,000 miles on it. A while back, he went to change the oil and realized the plug is stripped. He put I believe a one-over plug in and it worked until now when he tried to change his oil again. This time we tried a two-over plug, and a 3-over ... both leaked. Put a rubber stoppr plug in there worked for a day or so and leaked. Yesterday we got a 9/16 - 18 tap and re-did the whole. Bought a bolt and washer, it set up nicely and didnt leak. Today my father drove to work and came back to about a 1 foot diameter puddle of oil. He was only in work for 3 hrs. We backed out the bolt and tried a different washer ... still leaks.
ANY IDEAS .... WE ARE DESPERATE.

If it was my truck,i'd replace the oil pan like yesterday. You don't want to give it a chance to blow all your oil on the pavement and leave you stranded someplace. You might find one at a salvage yard cheaper than you think. My local yard has a whole bus full of the things.Make sure you get one for your one-piece rear main seal block though. If you want to get really butch, you could seal your drain plug with JB weld and get one of B&M's drain plugs designed for transmission oil pans.I installed one on my trans and it never leaked.Anybody got a better idea?

A little update -
We had a new oil pan put in the burban. Everything's fine.
However, now the plug on my 88 Formula's doin the same thing. I put a Single Over Piggy-Back in, and it leaks very little (drop an hour) but I still would like a new pan.
What are my options? I need one for my '88 L03, that would also swap over to my '86 350 block out of a Suburban. I plan on putting this motor in within the next year or so and would like to swap the pan over when doing so.
Is there such a pan that would fit both small blocks? Any comments welcome.
Thanks,
Kurt
