What pistons with 58cc heads

I have read allot of stuff on the boards about 58cc heads and other posts about pistons. Bottom line what pistons should I use in my 5.7 standard bore and stroke with 58cc heads.I don't what a compression ratio higher than 10:1. If you have any part numbers lets here them.

The only way to get anywhere near 10.0 would be to use dished pistons. That would probably bring it close. are these stock 305 heads. if so, its not worth the effort. they are very constrictive.

Car: 1988 Firebird S/E
Engine: 406Ci Vortec SBC
Transmission: TH-350/3500stall
Axle/Gears: 7.5" Auburn 4.10 Posi-Traction
In a standard bore 350 block a flat top piston with a 1.54" compression height will have a 9.8:1 cr with 58cc heads
with a .039" felpro gasket. This piston will be .045" down in the bore on a stock block.
Try federal mogul # h-345p

I will take a look at those pistons. The heads are 89 corvette heads not 305 heads. Thanks.

Dished, half moon type pistons actually make more power than flat top. More 'quench.' Kinda creates the Hemi effect. Also the turbulence and quench crated by these types of pistons will inhibit you from detonation, even if the car is tooned improperly.

They will only help stop detenation if the pistons are a good smooth casting. The ridges can cause hot spots, which in turn will cause detenation.
