Chagning Turn signal assembly

I need to change my turn signal assembly. Any advice would be great. I don't have cruise and or all that other jazz. How hard is it. Has anyone done it? Thanks.

what year is it (do you have an air bag)???

I replaced a turn signal stalk W/ intermitent wipers last week end... the end metal piece was broke off in the switch... I used a steering wheel pulller followed by a lockplate depressor and pulled the c shaped keeper out with two angled picks and a flat screw driver... disconnected the column wiring and removed the wiring protector... removed the screws for the t-sig cam and cancel cam... gently slid the wiring up the column so I could pop the metal end of the stalk out of the switch... that is as far as I had to go... this was in a 92 camaro RS...

hope that sends you in the right direction... maybe vader or someone can post a pic of the column explode...

if you have an air bag I would get some specific instruction (i.e. a manual) ... there are some links on here and some wadda ya call em's,,,,,, tech articles, thats what they are (look on the main page or do a search)...

ps check marks post on steering column help...

Tying a string or length of wire to the old terminal strip will
give you something to pull the new wires through the column
with.

JMB,

First, some word and phrases are blocked out because they could be used detrimentally or in vain. The board's filter software doesn't recognize intent, just simple character strings. That's one of the reasons you can't call the little drain valve on the bottom of the radiator a "petcöck", even though that is what it is. The word "cöck" can be used in an offensive manner, so it is filtered. Thank Göd that we aren't on an aircraft technical site, or we wouldn't have a place to sit down...wing walkers, all of us. Obviously, there are some other ways around the filters.

As for the turn signal switch, do a search for "steering column" and you should come up with a few diagrams that might help.
