It's knockin and I dont know to answer

Hey I got a LB9 and I put on headers well I finally finished the exhaust and now that its quite I got a ticking sound coming from drivers side of engine...it sounds like an exhaust leak, but its not. I listened closer and it has a knock with the tick too. I took off my rocker arm covers and tpi runners and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Any one got any ideas???????

It could be that you have a loose rocker arm or a noisy lifter... set the valve lash with the engine running and see if that helps.

If your car is knocking, put a sign in the engine bay that says "please use doorbell". Should quit.

set your valve lash , and honestly , check the header gaskets again . also , check your plug wires if its "ticking" one of your wires could be arking against something

Tightening the nuts on the rocker arms to a certain spec so they don't rattle. There's two ways of doing it: one with the engine off, and one with the engine running. The latter is easier and quicker, but messier as well.

FoREEL...do you have an oil pressure guage? What's your pressure at while idling hot? Although you can have a bad main without losing much pressure you will see a difference from how it is slightly.

Start by pulling i wire at a time from the cap & see if the KNOCK goes away. Put it back if it doesn't. Do this for each cylinder. If it stops, you may have spun a rod bearing.

Make sure it IS A KNOCK though. a tick is VERY different. Knock sound like a faint (or loud) It's like a hollow sound. Tick/click is exactly how it's specified!
