Question about E.G.R. valve

I just changed out my Quadrajunk 4 barrel and replaced it w\ an edelbrock perforer 600 cfm, but with the new carb, there isn't enough room for my egr valve, it hits on the side of the carb and does'nt allow the carb to seat. Is it OK to block off the egr port on my intake ?? Just what are the pros and cons of doing this. Thanx in advance for all replies.

i think edelbrock has an adaptor for the egr valve when using their carbs, if the carb is not computer controlled, just block it off with a block off plate
