Oil passages on pre-86 350 Block
I am in the middle of installing an oil pressure gauge on my 91 Z28. I just put in a 383 with a super ram on it. The only oil passage I know of to use for a oil pressure gauge is right below the distributor by the runner. I was wondering if there are any other spots on the motor to plug my oil pressure gauge to. The hole on the side of the oil filter was factory plugged and I forgot about it and didn't tell the machine shop to drill it out. Thats the main reason I'm installing a aftermarket oil pressure gauge.
Not a big deal, since not all SBC have the hole. You DID say pre-'86, so there may be a passage. Lacking that, the rear ledge may be your best bet. I know I have a '70-something 350 in the garage, and I'll try to get a close-up photo a little later - gotta fly for now for my second favorite passtime:
