well i have a 1984 305ci engine in my camaro, my best friends bro told me the year my car was made they were strict with emissions and my car is goerned to hell and back, i wouldn't doubt him.

why is it if i have it in D and i floor it the rpm's go up to about 2,500 and then it shifts to second, at about 2,500 again it shifts to third and so on, he pointed this out and said it should be shifting at about 4,000 rpm.

would a B&M shift kit help me out with this situation???

the guy at dons hot rod said my have one of the worst engines to mod, and it's no use, to me thats bull ****, i WILL give this engine a hefty set of ***** with the help of you guys, tell me what i should do to it,it is bone stock.

 

I'm not exactly sure on the '84's, but seems a TV cable adjustment is in order.

 

Wow! It only shifts at 2500?? Definatley check out that TV cable! Talk about an engine boggin down, when gunnin it whats it like when it shifts into second? The car must practicly shut off by then.

As far as the engine goes, it will gain these ***** you speak of with very "deep" mods, and you need "deep" pockets for these mods. Best mod would probably be a new crate motor, 383.

 

Put it in '1' and see if it will tach higher than 2500RPM. If it does, it is prob your tv cable out of adjustment like mentioned above.

 

yea when I have it in 1st the power is unleashed and I shift to 2nd at 5,000 rpm, chirps into second and shift to third at abput 4,500 rpm, them it shoots down to about 2,500 again
