Car: 88 Camaro SC
Engine: SFI'd 350
Transmission: TKO 500
Axle/Gears: 9-bolt w/ 3.23's
if im not mistaken, the EVAP purge valve opens to allow the unburned fuel in the charcoal filled cannister to be sucked up by the engine and be burned, i think. If you really dont care about your HC's on start up and inspection isnt a problem, you can just do away w/ the whole evaperative emmisions system and just plug the vaccume inlets on teh tb or manifold

go for it... it just captures unburned fuel to be burned on teh next engine start up... It reduces HC emmisions. just pull out all the hoses and the stupid black canister (making sure to plug the inlets and outlets) and your good to go. Emmisions inspection, if aplicable to you, could be a problem. they will fail you on teh spot for not having it and possibly fine you for tampering w/ the emmision systems. It is, after all, a federal offense. Not that that actually stops people from removing that usless clutter from the engine bay.I believe it wont trip any trouble codes but unplug the wire harness first to be sure.

P.S. Make sure you, or someone you know, knows how to properly do this.
