ok ihave a 1991 trans am/GTA TPI 305 i pulled it under the carport (running) i changed the water pump gasket i went to crank it it will not start it has no spark at all all the fuses are good all four wires going to the coil are hot ibought a new coil same story to be honest iam a datsun/nissan fan ihave never had a f-body none of my datsuns gave me problems like this working on a 1974 260z is totaly diffrent than working on a '91 t/a so any ideas are greatly appreciated p.s any one have a datsunz to trade for a t/a?

 

Lol... you can have our old datsun wagon w/ 220 grand on it...
If i had to put money on it, id say it was one of three things. Bad spark coil, bad electronic spark control module thingy, or a dud pick up coil. The best way to find out how to test these things would be to get a helms or chiltons manual... Either way, the manuals are just a good investment.

 

I had this happen to me once. It was on a 95 Talon TSi. Not sure if this will apply but.......
check your cam and crank sensors. if either aren't working you'll get no spark.

 

You got a GTA with a 305?????? Thats what your problem is.

 

Judging by your pic and the db i read on the firebirds I'd say you have a 305 as well unless you dropped in a 350.

 

I dont have a GTA though I have a Trans Am.

What's happening with the "SECURITY" lamp on the dash when you try to start the engine?

 

Sweet car either way. I wanted black but 92 GTA's are hard to find for a decent price. I ended up stuck with red.
