I have a 91 Z28, 5 spd, with a new starter, in fact, i've put 3 starters on it. New ignigiton switch, but still when I turn the key it just clicks like the siloniod is just laughing at me! But after screwing with it for like 5 mins, it always starts. Was wondering if there is some stupid little switch somewhere that i'm missing? Please help. Thanks alot...

Check the battery cable connections, negative battery cable connection at the block, and the starter grounding.

Three starters CAN'T have bad solenoids, can they?

 

check the starter relay.

where would the starter relay be located...didn't know these cars had those?

 

i've seen them lots of places. but on our cars, i believe they are by the brake booster or under the dash.
