How rare are these valve covers?

I found these in a junkyard, clean'd them up, painted them, and installed them on my TA. Did these come factory on any years? I was impressed how they say Trans AM, yet have the Chevy bolt pattern.

Could it be possible they came out of a 2nd gen Trans AM?

Those valve covers are sweet. I like the script on top.
by the way i thought all the second gen trans-am's had pontiac motors? ..... like the 301,326,400-pont,403-olds, and the 455? Did they run the chevy 350's and 305's in them?

I found these on an 82-84ish TA in the bone yard. It had a 305 chevy in it, that's why I snag'd them up. Got them for only $10.00!!! Even kool'r is the other valve cover says Pontiac where the oil cap is, I had to cut that out so I could use the oil cap on this side.

Aftermarkets...they used to sell them with Camaro/Corvette/Trans am/Chevrolet scripts on them.

Can't remember who made them, but don't see them around anymore.

Nice score for $10.00...and they look cool.

I have almost the same set. Mine do not have the box around the words TRANS AM. My set still have all the knock outs and say pontiac on one and power on the other. No idea how rare they are but they do look good.

I was going to say the same thing 'Acceld Z'.

I have a set of there aluminums, and the strips almost look identical.
