I'm trying to figure out how long it would take for a K&N to pay for itself. Do they come with a bottle of the cleaner? How many times will a can or bottle or whatever clean the filter that comes on TBI/CARB cars? What I would like to know is how many cleanings per oz.?

 

Kit is about $10. You could use dish soap and just buy the oil $5.

It takes about 1/2 hour for a good cleaning.

Clean it every 10k miles. Car lasts 200k miles, so 20 cleanings.

20 filters times $3 = The K&N filter and oil and 10 hours of cleaning the air filter.

 

the K&N filter cleaning kits (or filter recharge kits as they call them)do not come with the filter when you buy a filter, they cleaning kits are sold seperately. however, the filters come pre-oiled and ready to use. The cleaning solution and oil are also available in larger containers. always use the re oil a filter after cleaning it, cause its the oil that stops the majority of dirt from entering your engine.

 

The miles someone can go before cleaning would vary on their driving conditions. I usually get around 5K on a filter.

All I need to know is the number of onces of oil it takes to treat the filter once.
