Setting Hyd. Rockers
I have seen so many things said about setting the rockers on a Hyd. roller cam. I have heard that tighten them down and when you feel drag on the pushrod then go 3/4 turn........Any help will be appreciated.

What I do is tighten them down until the pushrod will no longer spin, and then go about a quarter to half turn more. You have to make sure that the lifter is touching part of the cam lobe that is NOT opening the valves when you do this, otherwise when you crank the engine you will have a lot of loose valves and the car will run badly. An easy way to do this(the lazy way) is to adjust all of the valves at once, then turn the engine over a quarter of a turn and readjust the loose ones. If you do this until none are loose, you should have it. Of course if you can somehow see the top of the lifter resting in its bore through the head(some heads are like this), then you can easily adjust the ones that are on the flat part of the lobe, crank the engine, and do the rest.

Should work. Won't do an intake when you intended to do an exhaust, won't forget one, etc.
I agree with the 1/4 to 1/2 turn down as well. All adjusted the same, whichever you choose, of course...

WASP..............how did you keep the oil from blowing out on the motor and you? I would like to do it that way but I was told it was very messy.
Thanks
Brian
Thanks

I set mine the same way WASP did. It's been done like that for years. If you run ahigh output oil pump and want to keep it from splashing everywhere, you can buy rocker arm clips to deflect the oil. maybe $20 for them.
