Will this oil pan fit?
Can anyone tell me if this pan will fit around the crossmember? It will be going on a 406 SB, Drivers Side dipstick.

Also, can anyone reccomend a very good oil pump? I dont want the VERY best, but one close to it for a reasonable price. Thanks!

Moroso pans are pretty much universal, so unless you have a first gen Nova, then it will pretty much always fit.
The best oil pump is the stocker!!!! I dont know if you are running a roler cam but higher volume/pressure pumps cause lost performance and sometimes breakage of the stock lifters. A stock pump with a '69 Z28 pump spring will suffice an engine to 7000 rpm or 800 hp, whichever comes first!

I agree with Green on pump choice: my favorite for a street motor is a plain old M55, with the screen to fit the pan you are using, and the Mr Gasket #26 spring. That pump makes about 30 psi idling and 55-60 cruising in a motor built with stock oil flow (bearing tolerances, hyd lifters, etc.) and 5W-30 oil.
Unless you are doing something that drastically increases the flow rate within the pressurized oil system, a stock pan is just fine. Your money would be better spent elsewhere. A typical street motor doesn't need anything beyond that, except maybe a windage tray.
