spark plug gap preferrence for 350 engine
spark plug gap preferrence for 350 engine
Put a set of ACCEL shorties in my car. Advanced auto said they should be gapped a .35. So I gapped them and put them in, they run great. Called another advanced auto today and they said .45. I have the accel super coil that goes on top of the distributer cap. Says it allows you to gap you plugs wider. IS this going to make much of a difference. It was a pain getting them in with headers, would hate to have to pull them and regap them. Like I said, they seem to run great just wondering what you 3rd gen owners gap the plugs for your 350 engine at. Mine is an 84 z28 with a 350 .30 over. edelbrock 650 and eldelbrock entake. 480 lift comp cam.

in my 84 TA (LG4 305) i use standard AC Delco plugs (i think the numbers something like R45TS, but i cant remember for sure) for the LG4 305 and they are gapped at 0.045 inches...thats the stock, suggested gap (ie they are gapped like that in the package...although i still check them to be sure cause sometimes they are off)
i hope that helps some
ohh.....by the way i have always been taught that wider plug gaps produce more power...i also read that in car craft
