changing the water pump on our cars is easy all i had to move was the belt....i thought i was gonna have to remove the alternator/power steering bracket and the smog pump bracket but i didnt have to. replaced it with a cheapo new one from advanced with a lifetime warrenty....keeping the engine pretty cool actually i also threw in a new 180 degree thermo running good now...oh yeah and be carefulk not to break the heater control valve....it was almost as mich as the water pump
i had to take a grinder to the water pump i got from advance auto parts. the left side of the pump hit the bracket for the ac compressor and wouldnt let the pump seat up against the block. after some grinding though it went in no problem. didnt have to take anything off but the air intake and belt.
Hey, the Sofa King is back...
Yes, the LT1 pupms are VERY easy. They hang right out there in front, with nothing in the way. They should be easy, to make up for the PITA task of changing the distributor cover and rotor.

The distributor on the LT1 aka. (Opti-Spark) is behind the water pump.
71,000 miles, and (1) opti spark so far. Excellent record I might add. (2) Water pumps though
