Roller cam assembly lubing...

Before I get everything back together I just want to make sure that I lubed the thing right. I drenched everything (lobes, journals, dist gear) in regular 5w-30 an stuck it in. I have the roller lifters in a tub of oil right now along with the roller rockers.

I heard to use whatever oil I run in it normally. Just double checking...don't wanna screw anything up.

thanks fellas...

i'd prime the oiling system before i put the distributor in, and i like 30w oil for break in, but anything should work you normally run.

I used the bearing assembly lube (that came with the main/rod bearings) on the cam bearing journals and motor oil on the roller cam lobes. I also use the assembly lube on the side of the pistons and rings and a thin coat on the cyl. walls before inserting the pistons.

Regular motor oil on everything else.
