Just curious... if I were to buy a V8 parts car and swap the drivetrain into my frame, will I be able to use my 3.42's? Or will I be cursed into using the most likly stock 2.73 or 2.77's...?

The 10 bolts are identical. I got the 3.42's from an 88 v6 5 speed, other than the powertrax the components came from a V6 car.

Other than gear ratio options, there is nothing different from a V6 to a V8 diff. The best diff to find is from a 90-92 car since it will have the larger 28 spline axles. Older diffs can be upgraded to 28 spline axles but the carrier needs to be swapped also.
