Pump Shot Too Rich

I have read many, many times about a <b>rich</b> pump shot causing hesitation.
hehe but in a different way i suppose. im thinking it would make a puff of black smoke out the back, and studder you car. I had a lean pump shot problem on my car, when i stabbed the throttle it would choke and want to die, then even out... i thought it was a rich problem, then i noted the air/fuel guage going LEAN when i hit the throttle, so now i know.
