I see that Comp Cams offers a set for $200. Part #1418-16. This is the cheapest I have seen. Has anyone used these? They don't say anything about being self-aligning or non-self-aligning. Does it matter? Thanks for any help.

I am running Proform Aluminum roller rockers. I have heard some people on here don't advise using them. I personally have had no problems, but I only have about 600 miles on them. I originally used the Proform roller tipped rockers and broke 4 of those. After I called them, they replaced the whole set with the aluminum ones.

I hear the Comp 1318's are real good. They are steel and are supposed to be lighter than the aluminum kind.

Personally I have Crane Gold's because I didn't want to mess around with chopping the "scaffolds" out the valve covers. I also had a hard time spending $300 on rockers I really didn't NEED. It was just a "while I'm in there" kinda thing. They fit fine with no modifications to the valve covers. Test fitting a modified valve cover in my van would be worse than watching 4 hours of Lawrence Welk re-runs.

I think the Comp 1318's go for about $320 (?). Not positive tho.

EDIT: I got my rockers thru AutoZone for $270...$30 less than Jegs and Summit and I didn't have to pay shipping

but.. they will get changed for a set of comp pro magnums soon. I found them for 230-240 bucks depending on studs and ratios.
