oil leak

i have a 84 z28 with a 305 that was built this summer. there is a oil 'drip' coming from the bottom of the transmission belhousing. its a 5 speed manual if that matters, the oil just drips off of it real slow maybe a puddle the size of a quarter will be there after one night of sitting. any guesses as to what could be leaking?

If it's engine oil, it could be the valve covers, the intake manifold, oil pan or the rear main seal.

Newly rebuilt motor? Hmm. I'd have to say the oill pressure sending unit. Round cylinder about 1.5 inces long with one tan wire and connector plugged into it. Located on drivers side near the firewall next to distributor. Check it out. Its only about 5.00 to replace and will save you alot of money from adding oil all the time.

Check and tighten oil pan and valve cover bolts. They may need a 1/2 turn or so after a rebuild(especially if they weren't torqued right to begin with) Be careful not to over tighten!
