A few months ago my 305tbi would intermittently try to stall out at idle every few seconds. A few days ago when I tried to start it, it just cranked and cranked without turning over. It finally turned over after a couple of minutes but idled around 1500 in P and 1000 in D. It set the TPS #21 code right away and it continued to take it's time starting. Today I pulled the connector and it started right up everytime but still idled high. Do the first and last problems sound related and does it just sound like a bad sensor? Thanks.

 

did you check your TPS voltage (should be at .54 idle and over 4 volts WOT) ?

 

Have you cleaned the throttle body / IAC lately?
