I have a 91 Formula LB9.

I need to install my new dipstick (Lokar flexible dipstick) and I don't remember where the old one was.

Is it the hole almost directly below the bolt that holds the AIR-tube-for-the-cat to the cylinder head? The hole I'm thinking of seems to be in a corner (i.e. drill the 90* bend in a piece of angle iron at a 45* angle). I'm not sure because I've never been able to see the hole. I'm sorry I can't be more specific.

Also, the dipstick mounts using a header bolt, correct?

I would like to go put the dipstick in--please help.

it is on the side of the block right near the knock sensor. . at least that is where it was on my L98. . . it is on the flat surface of the block right above the oil pan

 

Thanks. I really couldn't remember where it came out of. This is the first sbc I've had and the dipstick was only on for the first couple times I was working on the car. It's been four months since then so maybe you can see why I wasn't sure. Now that I think about it, my guess WAS pretty bad. What can I say? I will not post on any dipstick related topics until I master this dipstick .
