Effects of running with no Air Cleaner?

what would be the positive/negative effects of running my carb with no air cleaner at all.

Increased HP, but think of what the air cleaner does, filter out dirt in the air, so it doesn't reach the inside of the motor. Don't do it.

Your oil will get trashed inside of two weeks. The major part of contaminants in engine oil are from atmospheric dust, not internal engine or combustion particles. A good air filter is essential in long engine life.

I've also heard of cars backfiring with no filter and cleaner assembly to contain the flame and setting the car on fire. Bad deal either way.

Also there have been a lot of tests that show as long as you've got a good flowing filter and cleaner housing removing the air cleaner can actually hurt power because a good air cleaner smooths the air flow going into the carb.
