100 Octane Pump Gas > > >

There is a 76 station in my town that has 100 octane pump gas but I knda don't want to use it because it's a 76 station and I'm partial to Chevron brand 92 octane. Because of the timing on my SLP chip though and the fact that I don't really drive the car that much so the cost per gallon is no big deal, I'm thinking about using it in my GTA. Questions:

1: How good is 76 brand gas?
2: Does the fuel loose it's strengh from sitting in the ground or in my tank?? I ask because not alot of people buy it but all of the street stock NASCAR guys use it during the summer so it's fresh but it just kinda sits during the winter.
3: Would it just be better to use a bottle of octane boost with every tank full of Chevron 92 instead of buying the 76 100 octane?
4: How do I know it's really 100 octane and not just regular 92 with 100 octane on the pump? The place is a Fast Trip with 76 gas and pumps.
5: What long term effect will using 100 octane gas all of the time have on my engine, I mean it's all good right?
6: Will it ever hurt to go back to regular 92 in the future after using 100?
7: I'm not going to be upgrading my ignition system from stock so will this still be ok?

Thanks!

Alex

you don't need 100 octane with a stock motor. It actually reduces power because the higher the octane, the slower the fuel burns. Save the money even though it's not an issue. 76 is good gas, we used to run 108 octane leaded 76 gas in our 14:1 spitfire(the station switched to torco now). It's also what nascar runs, although in 110 octane leaded variety.

Just adding to what tom was mentioning, if you run that high of an octane gas in a stock motor, your exhaust valves won't be too happy with you either.
