autozone radiators

I was looking for a replacement radiator for my 84 trans am with a 305 in it but this fall will be a 350. Is the autozone radiator good? Also they list two metal and plastc/aluminum, wich one to get?

I bought the one with plastic tanks and it has done real well for the past year. It's for a 305 and I have a 383.

Well, I have a Autozone radiator, and i think I paid like 109.00 for it. It's metal and much better than the plastic ones. Seriously.....plastic?????..........what were they thinking??

I have bought TWO bad Autozone radiators. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt for one, so I got screwed. I learned my lesson after that.

I have an AutoZone radiator that has served me well for three years in a TPI 305, in Texas no less... and it's plastic just as the original one was.

I bought an Autozone radiator about 3 years ago and it had metal tanks. Good radiator. Then last October when I put my new engine in, I decided to replace my radiator. Not because anything was wrong with it but because it was lifetime warraty and I wanted a new one and why not, it was free. :P Anyhow, I took my old one up there to replace it and they pulled out the replacement and it had plastic tanks. I had them double check the part numbers and it was the exact same one. Apparently Autozone switched to plastic tank radiators sometime in the last couple years. Good radiators though..... I haven't had any problems yet.

Shhh, don't tell anyone I said that ... I work for O'reilly in Accounting now.

Hey!!! Whoa!!!:hail:

Ok - Ok....I also had a "Plastic Tank" radiator originally. I pulled it out because it developed a hairline crack around the radiator cap area and was seeping when it got warm.

And now I have a metal replacement, and there's no looking back. It served the car well for quite a while, but I still say...Seriously....."what were they thinking?"
