Top 5 Power Gaining Mods For A Tpi 350 (gta/iroc)?
Not interested in the 3 big power adders, super/turbo/nos.
After the free mods, tune up, etc.. .
What would you say are the 5 best mods to gain the most oomph (hp)?
I'm mainly curious for a stock 350 in a late 80's
GTA/IROC (L98).
Thanks!

sorry, wasn't clear. overall mods to the car, not just the engine.
i specified a 350, because some mods take better to that than maybe a 400 or a v6, heh.

Gears, exhaust, TQ converter, can't think of anything else right now.
Do u have an L98 or u getting 1, if so how are you wanting it to run in the 1/4 or be performancewise??

Have an 89 GTA in mind for this summer.
Would like the best of both worlds.
A 1/4 time in the 13-low 14 range and/or a little over 300 hp.

Engine: BP383 vortech, BP383, 5.7 TPI, LG4

Axle/Gears: 3.27, 2.73
COMPLETE TUNE UP
Headers/cats/catback exh.
Cam/springs (be careful here if using stock TPI)
Torque Converter (w/ aux. tranny cooler)
Shift Kit
K&N + intake mods or aftermarket (don't bother with throttle body upsizing yet, removing maf screens, siamesing ports (that is very wrong in my opinion)).
These would be the first things I would spend my nonexistant money on. I'm sure others will beg to differ in areas (TC isn't really this high on my list, but will give your ET a boost, traction is the downside here).

When you guys say "heads" do you mean headers or new heads?
What kind of heads and gears would you suggest? price, type, place to buy?
I don't know much about cylinder heads or gears really, can you explain what the upgrade would do power wise and involve to put in?
Thanks for the replies y'all. ..

For gears, 3.42's. If you have 3.27's they are good also.
For heads (not headers, although you should get them too, they go with full exhaust mods) it depends on what you are wanting to do, they gotta match the cam, and obviously cam choice is important in the way a car performs.
