Water Pump sounds

What kind of sounds can a bad water pump make? I know that it's bad, i just want to know what kind of sounds it can make. Thanks

You may get a howl or squeal from a failing bearing, a grinding noise from a failed bearing and/or shaft, or no noise from an impeller that has fallen off or erroded away. A leaky seal usually has no noises accompanying it either.

Well, I get the squeally grinding noise. But I've also got this occasional knock....but I can't pinpoint it to see if it's a rod or not. I dont' think it is, but you can never be too carefull.....It's not real loud...just kinda faint
