Problem with a F*rd!!

Sorry, but I don't know where else to ask.

I have an '83 Bronco with a 351 small block and a C6 (3 speed) auto.

I have an interesting problem. I hadn't started the Bronco for about a month. I checked all of the fluids before I started it, and it was low on engine oil, but the rest were fine. The tranny hgad fluid, but I figured I'd check the tranny fluid after I drove it for a while to get it warm.

I didn't get very far before there was a loud metal on metal sound and then I lost all gears. I was of course out of fluid...OUCH!~

Well, that's pretty obvious, but I was just past the end of the driveway, I figured I could put some fluid in it and get back up the driveway. No luck. I put 2 quarts in (it wasn't bone dry, just very low). I decided to start it and see what I could break further!

Well, now the starter turns, but the engine doesn't at all! What else broke?

Does the starter freewheel? If so the gear isn't popping out and catching the flywheel. Bad starter

ummm. make sure you have it in nuetral or park. But what if it wasn't the tranny, could have been the camshaft or crankshaft. Hope not though, good luck.

Sounds like you might have broken the flexplate.
