Gas Mileage
I own a 86 5.0 tpi iroc-z. I am the second own of this car. I was wondering how efficent the gas mileage is. The car is all stock. I was just wondering since i was walking in a car lot and saw that new v6's get about 21-28 miles per gallon and it got me thinking..... Thank for you time.
well it depends if it is an auto or not. I have a carbed 5 liter and I have a stick. I get like 15 in the city and 28 on the highway. you have a tbi so it should be better than mine. just some numbers for you to compare

That's pretty good milage. I've seen upwards to 30mpg by one member on here, but he did some programming to his computer.

My GTA once got 24 on the highway. Other than that, the gas mileage is bad, even for a lot of hard/city driving. Remember, especially with these computer controlled cars, one bad sensor can really screw-up your car's gas mileage and performance....

to work and around town - 20 to 21 mpg. Latest trip - the carshow at Charlotte,NC last weekend - 24 mpg on the road, both ways. 3 hrs, 35 min down (274 miles) and 3 hrs 45 minutes back home (more traffic Sunday afternoon). When I get old, I'll see what mpgs it gets doing the speed limit.
