adjusting dist on TBI 350 non 3rd gen
Hey anyone have any good ideas on how your supposed to get the dist bolt loose on a 1989 blazer 350 with the TBI? the fuel lines and that stupid quick disconnect are in the way for my dist wrench to get any movement and I have the same prob with using a regular wrench. Other than removing the fuel lines or something are there any tricks to make this easy? worse thing is I dont think the bolt has EVER been loose other than when GM put it together!
thanks
Jack

I did the timing on an '88 Suburban, should be similar? I used my 9/16th (IIRC) crowsfoot wrench, but didn't notice anything on it that wouldn't have allowed me to use a dis wrench on it...maybe they made a change in the years for the fuel line routing. thinking about iut, I don't recall a quick disconnect there, so more than likely there is a difference. Try a crowsfoot on the end of your extension.

didnt even think about the crows foot, I prob have one, but I "modified" the fuel line routing just enough to get the dist wrence to turn enough to get it to move so its all good, only prob now is the tag on the core support says 0 degrees timing with the a and B terminals connected while driving and the damn thing runs worse now that it ever did! oh well its a friends POS so he can deal with it, just put the timing back to where it was (almost 20 degrees off) and left it alone

oops typo, meant to say its required to be @ 0 degrees in park/neutral and now while driving it at the timing that its required to be set at it drives worse than it did when the timing was at about 20 degrees
