Hesitation/Stumble

I seem to be getting a little hesitation or stumble when accelerating just off idle.Always seems to be in the same spot.

I think it might be the TPS but thought I would get some other feedback before replacing it.

It's an 89 L98 GTA..........Thanks,Brian

What have you done so far to analize/ resolve the problem? Tuning, cleaned out the TB and IAC? Check fuel pressure/ filter?

It runs great other than the slight hesitation about an inch down on the pedal.

Disconnect your EGR valve and drive around. Wow, the stumble is gone, amazing isn't it?

Give it a try. I checked everything and replaced quite a bit before I found the problem to be my EGR valve. It was causing an off-idle stumble just like you describe. Put your car in neutral and slowly press the accelerator. When the RPM's climb to around 1400rpm or so, mine would start stubmling/missing pretty bad. Disconnected the EGR solenoid vac plug and it has run perfect ever since throwing no codes. I will replace the EGR when I get the plenum off...but not until then.

I doubt it. Seems like you just have to invest a little time to hunt down your gremlin. We will do our best to offer suggestions, but without actually getting into the car ourselves. We're just offering possible solutions, not concrete ones.

Try the EGR. If it's stuck it will stumble consistently just as you described. It could also be the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator or a misadjusted TPS. I'd try the EGR first. Be warned though, replacing it is a major headache.
