Car won't turn over
My Firebird is refusing to cooperate with me.
Ok, here's the full story. I was working on putting on some door panel pieces when smoke started to pour out from the under the dash and hood. It wasn't even running for that last hour! I quickly popped the hood and found out that the wires hooked up to a switch for the fuel pump (anti-theft) had somehow grounded out and fried themselves.
I replaced the wires with a thicker set and everything seemed to be working fine. I drove it later that night, but it would take a little longer to turn over, just a couple seconds. I woke up the next morning and it's still kind of delayed in starting, but starts none the less. As im driving to school I have to stop at a stop sign while on a downward slope. As soon as I hit the brakes the car dies. It starts up again just fine though, no delay. I make it to school, but when I come back to it afterwards it won't turn over at all! Luckily I was on a hill though, and it would pushstart.
So now it's just sitting in my driveway. My first thought was that the fuel pump got fried when the wires went out, but I can still hear it buzzing when I flip the switch for it.
Any ideas?

my guess is you either didn't do a good job soldering the new wire in, or you used a wire guage that is thicker than stock and the VATS system is sensing the difference in wire resistance... thus thinking that the car has been hotwired.
