2002 Eclipse
2002 Eclipse
Hey my friend just bought a 2002 eclipse (not sure what trim) but we took it for a spin and it was pretty quick. There is this one stretch of road that I usually test to see how fast I can go . I think its about 1/4 mile , a little less I think , and its a little bit uphill . But anyway from a dead stop I can reach this point ( a sign) at about 90 mph , he got there at about 80 . What would the difference in 1/4 mile times be assuming this is a quarter mile?

If that is really a 1/4 mile, ten mph is alot of time difference. When i ran, my 16.45 was at just about 82, and i raced an RX-7 that ran a 14.3 at 93mph. Should be about the same difference, like almost two seconds. Hope i helped.

80mph is pretty slow if thats a real quarter mile. for example, my Z totally bone stock (a carbed 84' 305 auto) ran a 16.2 at 85. if you plan on running him, you have nothing to worry about
Oh I was pretty confifdent that I could take him I was jsut wondering what 10 -15 Mph was in a quarter.
Ive been riding in it and those things are not slow by any means, I mean I can get to 60 wayy quicker than him, but It seems like his acceleration is more constant, mabye those just have a little better top end. Could do with the fact that I have a auto and hes got a manual.
