Had a pretty interesting race with a toyota

My wife and I pulled up to a stop light last evening on our way home. I was driving my wife's 99 Ford Ranger 4.0L automatic. I was the first in line in my lane and a Toyota Tacoma or Tundra...don't know which...it was older and it was taller than our truck....

Anyway some kid was leaning out of the window with his hat on backwards and was looking at me. I looked forward and inched my truck. He proceeded to inch his forward....then I did...then he did.....my wife wasn't paying attention and I was focused on the light.

(I am so used to driving my four cylinder Firebird that I get a little itchy with some power under the hood.)

The light changes and I squal my rear tires and smoke him off the line....I proceed to speed up to and through the posted speed limit and then layed off the gas so I wouldn't get a ticket for speeding. Smart standard proceedure right?

Well this high school kid does the....you guessed it...."FLY BY" in efforts to make himself feel a little better about getting beat by a little Ranger.

Here's a tip...let your passengers know what your doing. I gave my wife wiplash from accellerating hard. She wasn't upset...she was just glad we burned some RICE! Boy I married a great woman!

I hope you enjoyed my victory!
Later.

watch out if its one of the new tacomas with the hood scoop. they come with the factory supercharger option now on the v6 and might even give some 305 tbi's a run for their money. good kill!

Good kill. My old Toyota pick-up was quick against other ricers but couldn't compete against anymore than a inline 4.
