So I pull up off a 159th and Harlem into a parking lot where a few girls I know their b/fs street race. A 99-02 Cobra is there along with 2 LS1 SS's, a Vtech Honda, 96-98 Mustang GT, and a 88-92 Mustang Auto GT w/75 shot and DRs. So I'm the only third genner up there (with 3/4 of a bumper might I add) and I pull up in like 3rd gear keeping it quite. So I talk to one of the girls b/fs and hes like "race this Acura RSX 260hp Auto," then I thought that may be a bit to much for me, so I wait things out and talk with people. This girls b/f says he has a chip, and he says its worth SIXTY HP. I almost laughed my ***, the RSX was really quick tho spinning going into 2nd, he said it beat a LS1 SS. So I told him what my car is, "Bone stock 305 TPI 5spd," and his reply..."well you wont be able to beat anyone here. So I tell him to setup a race between me and the Vtech, the Vtech ****** out saying its to much of a risk. It gets better, so after knowing that noone will race or anything I take off with my 200lb friend and a girl in my car. At the same time the Vtech is cruising solo next to a Saleen (S281 i think). So I come to a red light look over, he looks over and I bring her to 2700rpms, I jumped through that intersection...I guess he didnt want to race off the line with his killer torque so I kill it almost at the end of 1st (or was he racing and I just didnt know hehehe) and I hear his car rev and him coming from behind I pop her in 2nd and slam on the gas, I was playing catchup but he had quite a head start. So he cruises past me and up ahead I hear him downshift, I slammed in 2nd at about 50mph riding high as hell, I let him get the crack and all I heard was *CHIRP* as I slammed 3rd and walked him easily. I love having a Bone stock 305 TPI, everyone assumes I have a L03 or something...Hahaha the girl in my car was the g/f of the kid who said that chip gave him 60hp. I guess I'll have to bring a cnote if word doesnt get out that I raped his super elite fast 190hp Vtech with headers, giant wing, carbon fiber hood, exhaust, and none the less...dvd and xbox in his car...hahaha if he woulda raced off the line I woulda humiliated him, oh yea and take the 2 people outta my car too.

 

According to your mods, you arn't bone stock...

Either way let me fill you in on somethings..

The rsx type s is only a 6 speed, so if it was an auto it would be the base version and a mere 160 hp at that.. Those run in the mid 16's with a good driver... The auto kills it.. I've heard of someone running in the high 15's with a base rsx but it is a manual and he managed a very good 60ft time...

As far as that guys 'mods', the k-series blocks don't have ANY chips released for them yet. The only mods even out for a base rsx are intake, exhaust and headers, max gain of about 15 hp with all of that.

You should have raced that guy just to embarass him. I really hate it when people talk crap about their cars. Like they are actually going to fool someone.. A guy I know at work said his friend just got an rsx type s, I asked what color... He said dark blue. I asked if it was the 6 speed, he said no, it was an auto... I just rolled my eyes.. dark blue = base.. auto - base...

 

I know im not bone stock...but THEY don't know that...and my internals are stock, I don't base not stock on simple boltons like headers. You shoulda heard the RSX slam into 2nd tho, it was a LOUD BARK. It really got up and moved, guess ill take your word for it tho, just I hope your not wrong cuz I just started my job and only have like $20 on me hehehehe.

 

if it's an auto, you have nothing to worry about at all.. a 14.4 will beat that by 5 carlengths at least...

Now, there is always the possibility that it is a type-s that is spraying... At which case he would take you... Most type-s's on nitrous are mid to low 13's...

A stock or lightly modded type s will be a good race for you though if you don't get him off the line.. They have pretty weak 1st gears but tend to catch up pretty fast...

 

A motor is not stock if it has headers.

Were you hangin out at the White Castle on 159th and Harlem? If you go up there at the right time, there will be like 30 cars in that lot...you can find alot of good races up there. Are you out in Orland alot? I live in Oak Lawn, but I cruise on 159th quite a bit. Whats your car look like? Maybe I've seen you around.

 

I live in Oak Lawn...Hometown actually, its a red Iroc-Z no ttops with like 3/4 of a bumper. Yea 159th and harlem is where I go...its where I raced the little punk cuz they got kicked outta whities.
