Thats something I can get behind (even if I said it first :P). Even when (not if) dart or another company introduces a block the whole split block dilema might prove a dis-advantage.

As for cost, the block's reffered to before are the 2.0-2.2L blocks usualy thrown away or sold for pennies by a person doing an STI or JDM swap.

Early Legacy blocks are also viable if you know what to look for so price isnt really an issue either. Localy I can get either long block for $99.00 There is no differenc between the two as far as the local yards are concerned.
