me vs 350, not even close

okay so after the softball tourney i was in (which i was constantly in and out of soberiet) i came home tired as all hell and was just cruising minding my own business and i see a 3rd gen t/a up ahead. so i thought perhaps i can get this guy to race, it was some spanish guy with 2 of his buddies, a nice looking black 89 t/a. so i pull up next to him and i hear him goto D so i was like scweet drop it into 2nd and i hear the chirp which made him realize i was ready to run. i hit the throttle at 3/4 and i pulled on him, not barely, but HARD. i was alone in the car and he had 2 people besides him but it wasnt a contest...i asked him if it was a 305 or 350 and he said 350. so i asked if he wanted to run, he said he needed a tuneup but his car sounded nice, i was like okayyyyyyy, wanna run and i let him go about 2 cars ahead and just stomped on it in first and reeled him. i dont know if that really was a 350 or not...

Very nice! If my LB9 was able to hit low 14's I may have not been in such a hurry to swap it out.

If you guys like the feel of your 350's now, imagine mating it to a 5 speed instead the the 700Rslushbox4

There is no substitute for a stick!!!

5-speeds are the only way to fly, I can't imagine having only 2 pedals anymore!!!

I wouldn't go back. And if the T5 breaks, I'll drop in another, or hand out the coin for a tremec or t56

Actually, if I understand the TTA motors, fly89gta is better off with an automatic because the 3.8 V-6, although making good power up top, would have to get over turbo lag in every gear with a manual, because of the blow-off of pressure when you shift. It is less of a problem with imports because they spin to like 8000 rpms, but I think that the TTA motor has a lower rpm limit. At least this is my understanding.

Nice race Iroczee .

Actually I think a manual on a tta would be insane. he could control where he wants to have his rpm's at shift and could always shift himself right into boost range. That combo would be deadly.

i have a 305 and i could lay down at least a 14.8 if i could get some traction...... stupid one wheel peels.(well i have a posi for it now) I ran a 9.78 @ 73 at the track a month ago, in 90 degree weather, with a 2.35 60ft. in the moutains of VA. this computes to about a 15.1, but my car really gets moving around 50-60 so the 1/8 mile does it no justice. But like i said im hoping for a 9.5-9.4 with some traction. Which is about a 14.7-14.8 thanks still not too bad... not fast but not too bad. oh yeah i dont talk crap about people.

if not you're a moron

put a stick behind a buick turbo 3.8 and see your results...but oh wait...anything with a stick is faster than an auto

not it wouldn't, it sucks, its been done by GM and quite a few people around, there are no gains, in fact you lose performance unless you go insane with special parts and stuff which it totally ridiculous

I have total control over my trans and where it shifts...its called a manual valve body
