What does a good condition 93 4th gen V6 run in the 1/4 with a 5 speed and posi (all of his burnouts are both wheel tho that doesnt mean anything). i am wondering how it will do against my friends 305TPI auto 86 IROC, but i wanna help my friend mod his v6 first.

 

I honestly don't know what a '93 V6 will do but I would guess somewhere in the 16s cuz the new 3.8s I've heard run mid to high 15s. I do know that your friend with the IROC will take it no problem cuz I've taken both the 3.4 V6 and a 3.8 V6 and I'm a stock 305 auto.

Yeah, with a manual I would think he would run low 16's. Otherwise probally mids or more.

 

Low 16s with a good driver.

The later 3.8s or whatever could hit mid 15s, but not the early 3.4s I think they were.

 

when i had my rs, a v6 (new one 98+) beat me by 1/2 car. that was when i was stock, i ran 15.5 @ 88mph w/2.3 60ft in my RS after that...so i would say low 16s, she was auto too, unless i dropped a full second in my RS which im sure i didnt do.

 

He wants to do a v8 swap into the v6, get a v8 k member and stuff, i think its a better idea than dumping money into the v6 car personally. what do you guys think? he is thinking about buying headers and a cold air intake for it so i dunno. do these things mod very well?
