Just cruising around tonight since it was nice out and I come up on a pack of long grained wild rice

Pull up next to one of em done up FTF style to the max, which made me laugh right off the bat.

The guy doesn't have his lights on..so i yell over to him that he doesn't have them on

He looks at me and says "Yeah I know,they take up too much power when I race, I figure it takes about 15-20 HP from me, plus if i'm caught racing the cops will see the guy with the headlights on"

The light turned green and his POS accord takes off, I didn't even bother.

The next light he asked why I didn't run him, was I scared :insert loud laughing here again:

I told him I don't pick on retards. Not only are you stupid for thinking your headlights take away power like that, its also stupid to drive on public roads without headlights on at 9:00 at night. He calls me a stupid ******* and drives off through a red light How ****in stupid can you be?

correct me if im wrong, but i believe the headlight power thing stems from the "if i add stickers to my car it makes it faster." i think the guy might have a point here......

 

I find it funny that these kids actually think that they can make an "economy car" go fast i mean our thirdgens were designed as a sports car from the factory, and yet they still cant seem to understand they cant make a fuel efficient car go as fast a detroit iron yeah our cars may bot be as reliable as those jap craps, but you cant kill em as fast, not to mention you can buy a used thirdgen for next to nothing compared to how much they pay for there slow *** cars, but they do have a habbit of making there cars "look" fast, for example, my cousin tim has a 86 F/B 350 stock q-jet and an open kat, sounds nice i guess, all he did was put an open element k&n filter on it the tourque converter, and rear end need rebuilding and replacing, and we were going down this one highway and saw 3 imports pull out of a gas station, the "leader" has a eagle talon, with a turbo and fart muffler the two behind him were eclipses im more or less sure they were the GST's but they were teasing us because this slow *** car was in front of us, but just then the car turned off and i told my cousin to hammer it, all you hear is that *** awful kick down and our heards still got pushed to our seats and all i heard was this talons fart rev up, and he was next to us before it kicked down, then all i see is his *** fall behind damn fast, i keep forgetting that all they have is a twin cam 2.0 liter even the turbo wasnt enough for the N/A 350 which was in need of work :lala: :nono:

that has got to be the best thing i have ever heard of.... i just was told that this kid sold his Grand Nat. cause it wasnt a autox kind of a car... he sold it for 3k.... i almost choked the kid!... he got a civic.... there, i wish i had a rocket launcher.... then he tells me that the GN was slow... so get got a civic... explain that one to me.... if anyone would like to cut this mans nuts off, so he can not spoil the gene pool, drop me an email....

 

I totally agree.....domestic engines are designed with a lot of 'headroom'.....fairly low volumetric efficiency, lots of little restrictions that limit the specific output.....which is why horsepower is relatively cheap in our cars......they were designed bearing in mind that many of the owners would modify them. Economy cars already have all of the horsepower the manufacturer could wring out of their powerplants. Plus, they are not intended for serious modification. Wanna drop a 100-shot on your Civic? Better replace those conn. rods. Ours are pretty beefy to begin with. (I know you guys with really serious motors will disagree, but I'm talking in relation to something like a Civic.) Got 500 horses? We F-body guys can simply swap out the rearend to handle the power, but your Honda will snap half-shafts FOREVER. LOL. Not to say that it's a waste of time, I respect any guy who pours sweat into their ride, but it's a lot easier for us. We have the most prolific engine in our cars (:hail: SB Chevy:hail: ), which means parts galore, and a million ways to modify them.
