2 WRX kills in 2 days

First one came yesterday while I was cruising with my buddy. We pulled up to a black WRX at a light and he wouldn't look over. I was atleast expecting him to launch it hard to get a jump on me. He did nothing..then we were rolling at about 30 and then he decided it was time to nail it. Needless to say his poor judgement cost him that one bigtime. I left him pretty easily. I then raced my friend's red WRX today from a dead stop. He didn't rev it up at all and dump it. Which made it pretty bad for him too. I had him by a good 4 cars by 60. He's planning lots of mods for his WRX though so i've gotta keep up with my mods..

i'm guessing this was in the T/A? Just kidding. Nice kills. There is a WRX STI at my school. It's black with black rims and an exhaust. Pretty quick from what i hear. I know what you mean about having to launch them at high rpms. He said he has to be at around 3k to feel any torque off the line. Nice times too.

some people just have no clue..But as far as mods go for the bird. My whisper lid should be in today from tbyrne and hopefully i'll be able to ****** up 5.0mustang's drag radials. Those will be my first two mods and i'm hoping with those to hit some 12.9's. Then after that i'm planning to get a muffler, probably an electric exhaust cutout, gears, bigger MAF and TB,and either an NOS 5177 kit or a NX wet/dry kit jetted at either 100-150 HP. And with that i'll be hoping for some high 11's in a relatively tame sounding daily driver. I think i can do it.

I've talked to a couple of guys around here who have new WRXs, and they didn't seem to know how to launch it....they were horrified when I described the 6000-rpm drop LOL.
"Oh my ***! I'll void the warranty!"

Good kill!!! I got a WRX last week, he decided he wanted to race from 40mph roll up hill, didn't work out too well for him. Sounds like some nice cars you have too.

seems a little slow to me even for a non-intercooled t-type.

I talked to a few guys that have the wrx, they say the handle good but feel underpowerd, they can cruise at high speed but they don't get up to speed that well because of turbo lag. You should never get smoked by one unless it has some serious work done to it. They are a fast car yes but not a drag car or a high speedster they are good for the handeling thats about all.

well, i would definately get smoked by one. Especially the STI at my school, because STIs have bigger turbos and some other suspension upgrades.

Well actually the thing is with the WRX if the driver behind the wheel knows what he is doing he could take a stock LS1 from 0-60 mph. If they're not scared to launch that thing at 5-6k they can rip out of the hole like a bat outta hell. I've seen a mildly modded WRX(exhaust, and it was running a couple #'s more boost than stock) race a 99 z28 M6 with exhaust. The WRX took him outta the hole pretty bad but once 3rd gear came around the Z walked him like a dog.

My brother sent me some videos he made at the track this weekend, all of the wrxs were running high 14s, but there was a 13.3 second civic The fastest car was an 11 second grand national, and there were some 10 second bikes as well. The track was pretty hot so that civic could easily pull 12s and the grand national 10s. I'd say the wrxs could run low 14s and maybe dip into the 13s.

Arent the STI WRX'S 2.8 liter motors instead of the 2.0 or is that the impreza STI...i dont know much about the WRX's but the kid at my school has a nicely modded one...nothing done to the turbo and not to much done to the engine.... and hes running 12.5 so they do have some potential
