2002 firehawk

some dude with a 2002 firehawk is going around saying he can smoke vipers and vettes, I know they have 345 hp. Oh and get this he calls it stock, I don't consider it stock because SLP modified it, even if they are in conjunction with GM. What do you guys think? Oh and he claims he can run 12.9 secs.

Dude, my brother's 87 IROC had beaten Vipers & Vettes. It has a 98 T/A LS1 in it w/ a 6sp. I wouldn't be all that suprised at all. The older vipers were pretty heavy, and didn't have huge HP. All I can say, is don't call until you know it's ! Also, just because some dude has a Viper, that don't mean that he knows how to DRIVE a Viper. Hell, I've beaten a Lightning with my GTA, but I've gotten my a$$ handed to me almost every other time by other Lightnings. Just cuz you've got the power, that don't mean you know how to use it.

H emay be able to take Vettes and Vipers, but older Vipers and regular Vettes, not Z06s!!! He might have run a 12.9 (very possible) but unless he shows you proof, don't believe him! His car sounds nice, but he sounds a little too cocky!

As far as stock, he bought it from a dealer like that (I am guessing new) so whether it has SLP stuff, or a supercharger, if it comes from the factory like that it is stock!

Most stock Firehawks (01-02) run anywhere between 13.0-13.4 stock depending on driver.

A 12.9 is possible, but not likely unless he's modded some.

Well, don't forget that most that get Vipers and Vettes are old guys goin thru a mid life crisis, and aren't usually into cars too much and thus most can't drive them.

Ever hear about them runnin slow as ***** at tracks, so that guy may not be BSing.

Oh yeah, I know there are people that own those cars that can drive, I'm just tryin to prove a point.

If he is totally stock I doubt very much he can hang with any Viper at all. A C5 is very possiable.... all depending on driver.
12.9 is also possiable ( Am I spelling that right?) under the right condtions but not likely.

Yea but not being able to drive is a diffrent thing, the car still has the potential there.

I wouldn't consider his story BS. He sounds a little cocky but some people let the car get to their heads. 12.9 isn't out of his reach at all especially in a well driven 6 speed. I've got an auto and I ran a 13.2@105 with K&N and some minor weight reduction. His times are probably unlikely but hey he does have a great machine and he's not claiming anything outrageous with the power he does have. If he was spraying with some other small mods to support that he'd be running atleast low 12's to high 11's.

Exactly what Cobrakiller said, the car definately has the potential, but the driver sounds like he may not! Most cocky drivers I know can't drive, and the 6-speed leaves so much room for error!
