last night was the homecoming game for the HS, I'm a sophmore in college, but I wanted to see some of the old gang, so i went, anyways this wierdo hick that is a senoir comes up to me, he says "what do you have in your camaro"

That kid's an idiot. They only came with a 4.6 V8 in the GT and Cobra and the 3.8 V6 was standard. Ford doesn't make a 5.2, much less put one in a Stang. You could swap in a 5.4, but that is a little more work than he is capable of. Either way, don't race him

 

He is definately lying. He more than likely has a stock 99, with a 4.6 and exhaust! Wht would he tell you the liters if he did manage a stroker kit. That would be like saying I have a 5.6L in stead of saying I have a 347!

More than likely (if he is in High School) it is his dads 99, and the kid can't drive it so it will always be in storage! Believe me I go to High School and there are tons of cars like that!

Don't worry, when High Schol kids find out you have a nice car, they always have, or are going to have a nicer one!!!

 

Yup..my thoughts too. Good chance it's really a 3.8L V6 too. He might come up with some excuse that they put the 5.2L's in the base model body to trick people. I know beause i had a kid trying to tell me his '00 V6 really came with a Cobra motor. I got him to pop the hood and all that was there was a little 3.8L

That is so true, before i got my camaro no1 said anything to me about cars or anything at school, then as soon as i got it every1 was either like nice car, or i my dad has this car... or im getting this car...etc

I am in High School, and everyone who sees my car, that does not know me, tells me about there classic car at home, or their new Muscle car, and I never get to see them! They always seem to sell them before I see them, and then they have an Oldsmobile or a Buick!!!

 

Hey Oldsmobile isn't that bad. There's an olds 442 for sale in town that I wouldn't mind buying.

 

Ya and Buick GN isn't so bad either, but its more like an Olds 88 or Buick LeSabre!

 

My brother has a 60 Buick LeSabre. Doesn't run and the interior is crap, but it's a beautiful car. I'm thinking about taking it to my shop class and overhaulling the engine.

 

My old school was horrible.When I was a junior all the gearheads where seniors.Well I liked going to school then.After school we would go drag in front of one of the guy's house.Well they all graduated.And now I am senior and there was me and 2 other gearheads.One has a 1970 chevy truck with a rmoded 327 and the guy just has a F-150.But he knows alot about cars and works on them alot.


Now I am going to the community college to get my G.E.D.And there is nothing but rice.And there all honda's either civc's or accords.It sucks.


But anyway.One day my buddy brought his 70 nova to school.He had to trailer it there.Because it wasn't done yet.I mean U could drive it.But it had no exhaust on it or anything.We where sitting in his trailer after school.Like 10 kids that non of us had ever talked to came up to us.They where like "yeah that is a bad car.My dad's is better"Not one of them new the difference between and piston and a lifter.But still yeat they knew there dad's was better.I swear they ned to make an automotive class standard in school just like math.And for me spelling on the internet.

He might have a 4.2 V6 dropped in from an F150, some guys on the V6 mustang boards have been doing 4.2 strokers on their 99+ 3.8 V6s and breaking like... 14s.. after spending more than $3000 on their motor

Ford does make a 5.4 V8, and the only mustang to ever get one is a 2000 Cobra R. I gaurantee he does not have a Cobra R.
